I want something totally SFW and humorous.
Here's the scene:
Fireman Sam sitting at a street corner in ragged clothing, begging for money and using his tarnished fireman's helmet to collect the money in.
He has a sign too, explaining why he needs help...
"Out of work due to Norman Price winning a Darwin Award."
Anyone who knows the most recent Fireman Sam series will get the joke.
Post a link to your entry as a reply to this journal.
Entries will close on Jan 10th which will be the last day for entries. I'll make my final decision and award prizes before the end of January.
I'll judge which pictures I like the best, based on quality of the artwork, faithfulness to the character's likeness and over-all humour.
First prize will be 1200 , second prize 600 and third prize 300
Inclusion of supporting characters such as other fire station staff is optional.
Changing the wording for the sign is permitted so long as the meaning remains clear. If you change the wording, its appropriateness and aptness will form part of my judgement.
If insufficient entries of suitable quality are received, I reserve the right to withhold awarding second or third prizes, or to cancel the competition. I really hope this isn't necessary, but bitter experience means that I have to cover my butt.
EDIT: My watchers are encouraged to share this information and spread it around since I don't have a lot of watchers.
EDIT2: Rendered scenes are also included, so long as the character is recognisable.
EDIT3: Since I don't expect a lot of entries, I'll give everyone who puts forward a decent entry 30 just for entering. By decent, I mean something which I can recognise as the character and obviously has some effort put into making it.
EDIT4: I've extended the deadline so that people who are away for Christmas have some chance to enter.
EDIT5: The contest is now closed. Time for The Judgement Day!
FINAL EDIT:
Since there were only two entries and my judgement is that they're about equal (although for different reasons), and although they're both good, neither is actually what I asked for, I've decided to award no first prize and two second prizes.
Congratulations to and . Your prizes will be arriving close-up (a little Pidgin English there, just for fun). Thank you for entering.

For a friend of a friend
Someone I watch has posted a journal regarding a friend of theirs who needs money for some home modifications after her spouse had to have part of one leg amputated.
I currently can't spare much if anything, so I'm posting a link to the journal in the hope that someone I'm watching can contribute a bit.
If you can't contribute, perhaps you can do a journal like mine to spread the word?
Time is running out!
You have less than two weeks to submit an entry for my competition:
I might allow a few days grace, but not more than that. If you intended to enter, then you need to do so soon.
Even if you don't feel able to get the facial expression I specified in the contest conditions, you should still try entering just in case I like the picture anyway. :) I'm intending to give a few points to each person who enters a reasonable entry anyway, just for the effort.
Reminder: One month left to go to enter my contest
There's only one month left for anyone who wants to, to enter the contest which I outlined in this journal entry:
So far, I don't have enough entries to make it worthwhile continuing with the contest. Unless I get a few more entries before the time expires, I may have to just cancel the contest.
Both traditional 2D and 3D rendered artworks qualify for entry in this contest, but not photographs (unless the photograph is of a 2D artwork which is your entry).
Please read the contest conditions and take note of what I'm aiming for in the picture, to maximise your chances of winning.
Definitely time for another contest! (Closed!)
I'm offering a prize of up to 1200 (DA points) for a bondage / voluntary slavery picture.
(Update: This contest is now closed and winners have been announced. Information at the bottom)
HERE IS THE KEY PHRASE:
What I want is a picture which depicts the emotions evoked after the moment when a male voluntary slave realises that his master truly understands his desires.
FOCUS ON THAT IN ORDER TO MAXIMISE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
The person depicted must absolutely be male. Hair and eye colour do not matter greatly to me, but he should be fairly thin because in spite of becoming fat in my old age, I still remember being thin (*sigh* - thos
